Job Description:
Rang Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a
travel nursing job in Roosevelt, Utah.Job Description &
Requirements
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on
the age of the patient and their clinical condition.
Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for
medication errors.
Ability to monitor the hemodynamic status of the patient and
correctly interpret the results.
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and
reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric,
geriatric, and general patient populations.
Documents patient care appropriately and according to policy.
Report and document changes in a patient's condition in a thorough
and timely manner.
Makes frequent use of policies and procedures and stays current on
evidence-based practice.
Focused on patient safety, submitted incident reports to the
incident reporting system, and communicated with management to
learn from mistakes and improve patient outcomes.
Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise the
plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and
evaluate the overall plan daily for effectiveness.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and
evaluates the effectiveness of learning, family is included in
teaching as appropriate.
Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identifies
dysrhythmias, and treats appropriately based upon ACLS
protocol.
Rounds on patients hourly and documents appropriately.
Coordinates and supervises patient care as necessary. Oversees care
of all patients in the ICU unit and assigns appropriate tasks to
LPNs on the unit. Ensures that every patient on the unit receives
an assessment from an RN every shift.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurses,
co-workers, and physicians.
Consult other departments as appropriate to provide an
interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
Provides care appropriate to the disease condition and age of the
patient.
Charges for supplies and procedures, as instructed, in a thorough
and timely manner.
Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, and organized and function
well under stressful situations.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Identifies and addresses the psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and
religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
Functions as a liaison between administration, patients,
physicians, and other healthcare providers.
Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Utah RN License.
Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.
This position is for a full-time night shift schedule.About Rang
